Larry Hirshowitz is a friend from South Africa who lives in LA + produces exquisite photography. His work has been published many times over + his list of famous portraits is extensive. barber shop

series 1

i have finely started my barber shop series + begin with this one. it's on my morning walk + i popped in with camera in tow the other day. To my surprise i found Anna (the barber) sitting there waiting + reflecting. Not waiting for me, that's for sure, although she was quite happy to let me snap away. She has been here since '91, just about when i came. She is from Slovenia (i think) + not a hair out of place, is her place. see her tiny reflection in one of the mirrors.
