halloween

having never grown up with halloween i now try hard to embrace it. my favourites are the little creatures + so here are a few from the days events.

the farm

the shoot is over (hooray!)
Needed some RnR so i paid a fall visit to the farm. there was a wonderful litter of piggies, a new calf + some really friendly goats. This is Riverdale Farm which i featured in the summer + is 10 minutes from where i live in downtown Toronto.
its looking gorgeous even though its the end of the season.

gone fishin'!

i wish i could close my door and put up a sign saying "gone fishin", but alas not today.
i will be gone for the next 2 days doing our 2008 Spring Catalogue.
Hooray, all the designs are done. (for now)
Also do check our updated website which is supposed to be LIVE tomorrow morning. it is still not complete but will be soon. its only taken 6 months! Let's hold thumbs.

so busy this week with a shoot, catalogue, new website, child, dog, partner, life... anyway, this is a new design. it's one of my faves + i've done a butterfly as well, it's so retro in color + feel. any comments?

a party, a friend, a sister, a girl in pink with a hula skirt... so sweet, so pretty!

venice

on the subject of vintage photos. these are my grandparents Betty + Max who went on a fascinating trip in 1961.
it was there 1st trip overseas, starting off on the blue train from Jo'burg to Cape Town. They then boarded the magnificent ship 'Infante dom Enrique' heading for Lisbon.
Portugal, Spain, Scandinavia, France + Italy followed. the caption on the bottom of the photo reads:
"One had to settle on my head!"

Friendship

these 2 women share a lifelong history of friendship, love + laughter. they live on opposite ends of the earth. Sylvia in Toronto, Merle in Cape Town. They have been friends for almost 60 years + are now experiencing a reunion after 3 years of not seeing each other. it seems that they have never been apart. here's to great friends + knowing you can just hop on a plane + see someone special at any time.
